Hands On Faith
is what we call all of our JUSTICE and SERVICE initiatives.
Here’s what Hands On Faith looks like at Sanctuary:
Cougar Chow: food assistance for students at Coralville Central Elementary
Provisions: essential household items for people in transitional housing
$10,000 Blessing: a grant for a local nonprofit awarded annually at Easter
Ukrainian Refugee Resettlement: sponsoring a Ukrainian family to relocate to the Iowa City area
Volunteering: serving with other folks from Sanctuary as we partner with local nonprofits like Houses Into Homes, Habitat for Humanity, and more
Emergency Assistance Fund: rent, utility, or other assistance for individuals and families facing need
Collection Drives: diapers, mittens, winter coats, and other items collected throughout the year

Some past and current nonprofits that Sanctuary has worked with:
Serving Local Food Banks and Pantries
A rapidly increasing number of our friends and neighbors are relying on local food pantries for critical support. Some of these pantries have experienced a 50% increase in the number of households they serve since the beginning of the pandemic. Please consider volunteering your time for a shift at one of these great organizations.
