Sanctuary 101
Newer to Sanctuary? Wondering what we're about or hoping to connect further? Sanctuary 101 is for you! This 1-hour class is happening on Sunday, May 19, beginning at 11:10 AM following the Sunday service. Sub sandwiches and other lunch food will be served, and childcare will be provided. RSVP to Pam (pam@sanctuaryic.org).
Clothing Drive through May 19
Our Hands On Faith ministry is conducting a clothing drive to benefit the Crisis Stabilization Unit at UIHC. We’re collecting new and gently-used adult-sized clothing of any kind, but especially t-shirts, sweatpants, shorts, sweatshirts, sports bras, slides, and jackets. Bring any donated items to church and place them in the donation bin near the Welcome Table any Sunday through May 19. Thank you!
Volunteer with Houses Into Homes
Join Sanctuary's Hands On Faith Ministry to volunteer with Houses Into Homes on Saturday, May 18, 9 AM - 1 PM. We'll meet at their warehouse and help move furniture and household items into people's homes. Light and heavy lifters welcome. Children are welcome too as long as they are accompanied by an adult volunteer. Questions? Contact david@sanctuaryic.org.
All Church Picnic
Join us for an all-church picnic on June 2, 2024, 11:30-1:00 at the East Overlook Day Use Area next to the Coralville Dam, shelter #3. There will be games and activities for kids, and there’s a playground right next to the shelter. The church will provide sandwiches and beverages, and everyone can bring something to share: last names A-M bring a dessert and N-Z bring a side dish. Also, bring a blanket or some chairs for additional seating.
Sanctuary’s 25th Anniversary Party!
This year marks Sanctuary’s 25th Anniversary. We’re planning to celebrate during the Sunday service on Sunday, August 25, 2024, followed by a party at the church. We’ll have food, games, a Kona Ice Truck, a photo booth and more. So save the date! More details will be shared as we get closer to the celebration.

General Information for in-person Sunday Services
Baby Lounge: You can hear the service from the baby lounge located in the rear right of the sanctuary.
Candle Lighting Station: Everyone is welcome to use the candle lighting station located against the back wall of the sanctuary. You can light a candle as a symbol of prayer, gratitude, grief, or remembrance.
Offering stations: Donation boxes are available on the back walls of the sanctuary. You can also give online or through Venmo (@SanctuaryCommunityChurch).
Restrooms: Please feel free to use the restroom that matches your gender identity.
Fragrance Free: We want everyone to be comfortable at our Sunday services. We request that you refrain from wearing scents. Thank you!
